Townsend Ecumenical Outreach Townsend Ecumenical Outreach is an organization helping those in need in our community. As the needs of our residents have grown, so have our programs.

Our organization provides monthly food distribution for Townsend and Ashby residents, a backpack program through the public schools, a clothing closet for Townsend and surrounding communities (proof of residency required), Christmas tree lighting on the Townsend common, and back to school supplies for our enrolled families.

While TEO is grateful to all of the amazing community members who thoughtfully donate to TEO, we have to post something unsettling.
More and more TEO is being used to discard junk.
The outside bins are for clothes and soft goods only.
TEO takes a limited amount of household items and like new toys.
We do not take old inhalers, mismatched earrings, old Tupperware, old calenders, magazines, trash bags, used photo albums, coloring books that have been already used, or children's art projects, the list could go on.
Today some dumped bags of what essentially amounts to trash outside the bins at TEO.
It is not the first time this has happened.
It is not fair to the volunteers who help at TEO. It is not fair to our neighbors. It is not fair to those we serve as we are spending an inordinate amount of time dealing with and paying to remove trash that is dumped off.
If it persists, we will have no choice but to require everyone to drop inside.

Yard Sale Alert
It looks like the weather is going to cooperate on Saturday!
Come up to TEO, 82 Bayberry Hill Road, West Townsend 9-1130 for some great deals on new and gently used clothes, books, Fabric, yards, housewares, comforters, shoes, and purses.
More items were unpacked this week.
Lots of designer clothes at a bargain.
Jeans $5 (3 for 10 mix and match women's/kids/mens), blouses $2
Sneakers $3, Graphic T's 3 for $1, Sweaters 3 for $1.
All proceeds support the TEO.

Thank you to everyone who came to the yard sale yesterday.
Weather permitting we will have items out for sale Wednesday, August 5, 4-7pm and Saturday August 8, 9-1130AM.
Everyone knows TEO has clothes (and right now lots of clothes!), but did you know it is a great place to thrift for gifts too?
Some of these items would make great gifts. Shopping at the Clothes Closet helps the local community, and you can get some great deals.
Backpack Picnic Basket new with tags $50 (current retail $115), Coach bag $80 (check the prices of others before gasping), Bar Set $35, Indoor S'mores Kit new in box $10, Policeman Cookie Jar new in Box $25, Roller Skates new in box $8.
These are just examples of some of the array of items in addition to new shoes, clothes, jewelry, games, and toys at TEO.

TEO is having an indoor/outdoor yard sale this Saturday August 1, 2026 9AM - 1PM.
There are 1,000s of items for sale and 100s new, with tags.
Thrifting is in, and you can get some great deals.
Lots of designer brands American Eagle, Aeropostale, Aerie, Gap, Loft, LL Bean, Helly Hanson, Talbot's, Levis, Nike, Spyder, Kenneth Cole, Coach, Converse, Pink, and the list goes on and on!
There is a great selection of purses, backpacks, books, toys, houses wares, and knickknacks.
All proceeds support the food pantry.

The Clothes Closet is stocked with lots of great items each week (many new with tags).
Stop in for some terrific deals and help support the local food pantry.
There is a fantastic supply of summer Crocs, water shoes, flip-flops, bathing suits, Tshirts, and shorts (most $5 and under).
If you are planning for fall sports there is also a good supply of gently used cleats.

There is still time to get your 4th of July gear at TEO.
Hours this week are Tue 930-1130am and Wed 5-7pm. There are lots of fun, red, white, and blue tshirts, and tanks, for kids, mens, and ladies. There are several super cute dresses too.
In addition to the holiday items TEO has hundreds of articles of new clothes, bathing suits, purses, shoes, jewelry, books, toys/games and household in addition to high quality - gently used items..
You will find bargains and will be supporting a great cause.

Due to various reasons (vacations, medical, work conflicts, etc.), we are low on volunteers for this Thursday’s food truck unloading. Unloading begins around 4:00 pm (sometimes a bit later depending on whether the delivery truck hits traffic coming from Boston). We are typically done by around 8pm, but we appreciate any amount of time offered.

If you’re available and willing to help, we’d love to have you. Please note, there is heavy lifting involved. Also, closed toe shoes are a must. Due to safety reasons, adults and teens (able to work independently) only, please.
