Townsend Ecumenical Outreach

Townsend Ecumenical Outreach Townsend Ecumenical Outreach is an organization helping those in need in our community. As the needs of our residents have grown, so have our programs.

Our organization provides monthly food distribution for Townsend and Ashby residents, a backpack program through the public schools, a clothing closet for Townsend and surrounding communities (proof of residency required), Christmas tree lighting on the Townsend common, and back to school supplies for our enrolled families.

A huge thank you to Jeremy at 2 Guys 1 Truck Junk Removal for helping us dispose of the items that were left outside of our donation bin (and ruined by weather and animals). We appreciate you donating your services to TEO!

While we appreciate all of our community’s donations, leaving items outside of the bin is not acceptable. These items have been ruined by rain and animals. They are now unusable. Volunteers now need to spend time disposing of these items, and TEO will incur additional trash disposal fees, meaning less food goes into the community.

If the bins are full, please come back another time or stop by when TEO is open (Tuesday and Saturday mornings from 9:30-11:30 and Wednesday evenings from 5-7).

TEO does have cameras… please don’t make us have to use them to identify people who are dumping things at TEO. That is most definitely not the relationship we want with our community members. Thanks for your understanding!

TEO would like to thank Troy Langlois at Townsend Hill Electric for his generous support of TEO. Yesterday, he donated his time (over 2 hrs) and materials to hook up our new hot water heater system. TEO is always thankful for the support of our community and local businesses. Your support means we have the resources to continue to meet the needs of our community. Thank you!!

Did you know that the fashion industry produces approximately 100 billion garments annually?
There is already enough clothing on the planet to dress the next six generations!
In January TEO started a thrifting model in the Clothes Closet, not only is it helping to support TEO operations, we hope it is giving new life to some great clothes and household goods too.
Come by on Saturday from 8am-1pm as all three garage bays will also be open with lots of clothes, shoes, toys, games, and some household items.
All proceeds go to support the TEO food pantry and other programs.

The TEO Clothes Closet evolved because the community need has increased dramatically while food, utility, and operational costs continue to rise and donations have declined. Additionally, there was significant community feedback regarding the amount of clothes that was being given for free, but was then being resold (yard sales, online, etc.).

Rather than reduce services or cease operation of the Clothes Closet, the twelve-member Board of Directors that oversee TEO operations created a hybrid model that still provides free clothing support to active members while helping fund food and community programs. Active TEO members continue to receive free monthly clothing credits based on family size and birthday support for children. Emergency assistance during crisis situations remains available.

Our pricing model is posted and consistently applied. Gently used items are kept affordable, while new and specialty donated items are deeply discounted. These donations help in two ways: community members get great deals and TEO programs stay afloat.

Unlike Savers and Goodwill with highly paid executives, TEO is volunteer run. Every dollar raised supports local programs, allowing TEO to help those in our community continue to access food and the critical assistance they need.

This weekend, May 9, at Noon, The Blood Team www.bloodteamrealty.com will be hosting a BBQ, with face painting, a bounce house, music and more to celebrate their new space at 3 Hollis Street in Pepperell.
They will have an official Ribbon Cutting at 1PM. During the event will be collecting non-perishables for our friends at PACH and many businesses have donated raffle items.
Ticket donations are $1 and proceeds will benefit TEO! Be sure to stop by and see the new office location (it is looking amazing by the way), have some great food, conversation, and fun. Be sure to take a look at the raffles too.
All the logos in the picture are of businesses that have donated to the raffle to benefit TEO.
Thank you for including TEO in the celebration!
