The holiday season is upon us. And with the season comes opportunities to help the less fortunate in our community. The Adams County FOP Lodge 31, Adams County Sheriffs Office, Peebles Police, Seaman Police, Manchester Police, Wi******er Police, and Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Enforcement have a goal to sponsor 50-55 local children so they can have an amazing Christmas this year. With help of donations we can make this possible. It is with heavy hearts that we report to you that Sheriff Michael Chandler of the Putnam County OH Sheriffs Office passed away this morning, January 27, 2016, from complications from a recent surgery. He began his career in 1983 as a part-time Special Deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office where he later assumed a full-time position and rose to the rank of Sergeant. Over the course of his 33-year career, Chandler has worked on the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force and served as a detective with the PCSO. Chandler was elected Sheriff of Putnam County in 2012. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, both blood and blue. Sheriff Chandler, as you now patrol the streets of Heaven, may you continue your vigilant watch over your brothers and sisters in blue. We thank you for your service and we promise to NEVER forget you!
