π·πΈπΉπΊπ» Living things in Spring was the theme for this weekβs Storytime which is always the happiest hour of our week. We sang two new songs to Storytime, Bubble Bubble Pop and The Clapping Song (both are linked below). We then read Binkleβs Time to Fly by Sharmila Collins. It is a sweet story about Binkle, a butterfly, who canβt wait to fly. Once he emerges, Binkleβs wings are thin and full of holes. This endearing story with beautiful illustrations reminds us, that when life presents unwelcome challenges, inventive alternatives and the support of others can make all the difference. The children enjoyed pretending they were butterflies. Our second story, A Seed Grows, by Antoinette Portis told the life cycle of a sunflower. The children used scarves to act out the story. During our craft time, the children planted wheat grass seeds and in another cup a mammoth sunflower seed. We are all hoping for mammoth sunflowers just like the one in our story.
Next week our colors are yellow and green. You may bring something yellow or green to share. ππ Weβd also love to see pictures of your child with their sprouting seeds too! π±
