The BackPack Program continues to provide child-friendly meals to students who suffer a food shortage over the weekend. The amount of food each child receives may seem too small to make a difference, but the children who benefit from this program continue to let counselors and teachers know how much it means to them. Many express, this is all they have to eat during the weekend.

The support for this program from the community has been amazing, but as programs like this continue year-to-year, financial support begins to fall. We are coming to this wonderful community of individuals, organizations, and businesses to appeal for help by bringing this much needed program into the light once again.

The cost to feed one child a year is $160.00. Would you consider sponsoring a child, giving a onetime donation, or giving on a monthly basis? Donations of any size will be much appreciated and may be sent to: EFOC, Post Office Box 608, West Union, SC 29696.

The Education Foundation is collecting old cell phones, smart phones, and used ink jet cartridges to raise funds for classroom grants. Please consider taking your used phones or cartridges to any of the School District of Oconee County school sites. To insure your private information is not shared from your old cell phone or smart phone, all you need to do is deactivate the phone and remove the sim card that is located inside the phone. The PhoneRaiser Campaign is a great way for you to recycle and support our students by providing them with innovative technology that supports STEAMS. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, and Service) Please contact us if you have any questions.
