This alert provides critical information to caregivers about recognizing and responding to medical emergencies...

The most important job of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) is to keep the people they support healthy and safe. DSPs can help prevent serious health problems when they notice small changes early. One of the best ways to do this is by knowing what is normal or usual for that person. When you know what is typical, you can quickly spot when something is different.

๐Ÿฅ‡ HE BROUGHT HOME THE GOLD! ๐Ÿฅ‡

What an incredible weekend for one of our very own!

The 2026 Special Olympics Ohio Summer Games took place this past weekend at The Ohio State University, kicking off with an unforgettable Opening Ceremony at the iconic Horseshoe. Athletes from across the state came together to showcase their talents, determination, and competitive spirit during three exciting days of competition, celebration, and achievement.

We are thrilled to recognize Darrell Grooms for his outstanding performance on the state stage!

Darrell competed in both the 100-Meter Dash and the Softball Throw, representing our area with pride and determination. His hard work and dedication paid off as he raced to a FIRST-PLACE finish in the 100-Meter Dash, earning a Gold Medal! ๐Ÿฅ‡

As if that wasnโ€™t impressive enough, Darrell also secured THIRD PLACE in the Softball Throw, bringing home a Bronze Medal! ๐Ÿฅ‰

Darrell currently competes with Highland County Special Olympics under the leadership of Nathan Boatman, and we are incredibly proud of all that he has accomplished. His success is a testament to the power of perseverance, commitment, and the opportunities created through community partnerships.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Highland County Special Olympics for their continued collaboration and support. By working together, we can create meaningful experiences, foster inclusion, and provide life-changing opportunities for the individuals we serve.

Please join us in congratulating Darrell on this remarkable achievement! Your hard work, sportsmanship, and determination inspire us all.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations, Darrell! We are proud of you and excited to celebrate your success! ๐ŸŽ‰

๐ŸŽ‰โ˜€๏ธ What an Incredible Friday at the ACBDD Summer Kickoff Picnic! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰

Friday was a day to remember as the ACBDD welcomed the individuals we serve, their providers, families, and community partners to our annual Summer Kickoff Picnic at Seaman Legion Park.

The park was filled with laughter, friendship, and excitement from beginning to end! Whether participants were cooling off at the splash pad, enjoying a game of basketball, or spending time with friends, smiles could be seen throughout the park all day long.

One of the highlights of the day was the announcement of the winner of the ACBDD Shirt Design Competition. Congratulations to Caleb Holstetter on his outstanding design! We are excited to showcase his creativity on this yearโ€™s ACBDD shirts.

We were also honored to welcome representatives from the Adams County Board of Elections, who recognized individuals who volunteered at the polls during the Primary Election. Certificates and medals were presented in appreciation of their service, demonstrating the power of community involvement and partnership. A special thank you to Carol Knauff and Mark Tolle for joining us and helping make the day even more meaningful.

The event was a tremendous success, bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and celebrating the wonderful individuals and partnerships that make our community so special.

A heartfelt thank you goes to BeeKay Sweets for providing a delicious meal and to our master griller, Brian Mason, for keeping the hot dogs coming!

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Venture Productions Inc.for not only providing outstanding support and services throughout the event, but for being an important part of the day itself. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment helped make this celebration a truly special experience for everyone involved.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a memorable celebration. Together, we created a day filled with joy, connection, inclusion, and community spirit. The memories made, friendships strengthened, and smiles shared are what made this day truly special.

Hereโ€™s to a fantastic summer ahead! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰โค๏ธ
