Adams Co Probation Officer Kayla Bender participated in the Youngsville Pentecostal 5k on Courthouse Square. Officer Bender ran 24:40 winning 1st place in women’s division and 2nd place overall. Way to go Kayla! We will not mention Chief’s time but she did participate! 💪🥇😊

Adams County Courts and Probation hosted Scooby Doo Movie Night on Square! Fun games, Scooby snacks and warm apple c***r were had by all in attendance. Thank you to our wonderful little Comminity for sharing in the fun and giving the kiddos a great night🍿🎦

A clarification of the facts from Judge Brett Spencer-As a result of recorded comments made by a Commissioner during their October 5, 2026 meeting, regarding delays in approval of the newly constructed Children's Home, this is the law on what must occur prior to construction. The Court was advised August 4, 2026, by a Prosecuting Attorney, to proceed with selection/appointment of a committee. The Court, due to construction being completed or near completion, has retained a certified inspector to inspect the newly constructed building to ensure its safety for the residents, workers and public. Ohio Revised Code 153.39 "Approval of Plans for Children's Home" was required submitted to "The Board of County Commissioners" and three (3) appointed citizens BEFORE any construction was undertaken. CASA Assistant Director Kelsey Darnell and three of our dedicated CASA volunteers — Kennedy Sullivan, Erica Culver, and Megan Pieper — had the opportunity to attend the 31st CASA Conference in Columbus, Ohio! ❤️

The conference provided valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and gain new tools to better serve the children and families in our community. From mental health and wellness to strengthening advocacy skills and supporting ourselves as volunteers, our team is learning how taking care of ourselves and continuing our education helps us become even better advocates for the children we serve. 💙

We are so proud of Kennedy, Erica, Megan, and Kelsey for representing Casa of Southern Ohio - and investing their time and energy into becoming stronger advocates and volunteers.

Adams County Courts are excited and grateful that these CASA advocates were able to attend this conference and bring their knowledge and experiences back to our community! 👏
