West University Place CERT

West University Place CERT West U CERT Team members volunteer their time in an Emergency/Disaster event or in special situations What is CERT? The C.E.R.T. Would you know what to do?

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) members participate in training programs that prepare one to help him/her self, family, and neighbors in the event of a disaster. During an incident, emergency services personnel may not be able to reach everyone right away. By getting trained in CERT, we will have the skills to help emergency responders save lives and protect property. As a member of a CE

RT team, we can respond to disasters, participate in drills and exercises, and take additional training. CERT teams are known and trusted resources that support emergency responders and their communities. About CERT

By 1993, thousands of residents had been trained in the United States and Canada. program nationwide is supported and assisted by FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) in Emmetsburg, Maryland.
