The Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 8th.

Deputies will continue serving the community throughout the holiday.

Jail visitation will continue as scheduled and is not affected by the administrative office closure.

Today, Sheriff Rosie Rivera had the honor of promoting three new sergeants who will serve in our Corrections and Law Enforcement Bureaus.

Stepping into a leadership role comes with new responsibilities and opportunities to support our employees and serve Salt Lake County. Each of these sergeants bring a strong commitment to public safety.

Congratulations to Sergeant Kyle Liddiard, Sergeant LaNorma Ramirez, and Sergeant Darrin Watrous on this well-earned promotion! We look forward to working with them in their new roles.

Due to a gas leak and road closures near 3300 South and 900 West, visitation at both the Adult Detention Center (Metro Jail) and the Oxbow Jail is suspended for the remainder of the day, August 5, 2026.

The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Mounted Posse has a long tradition of volunteer service. Since being reestablished by Sheriff Rosie Rivera in 2018, the Posse has continued building connections with the community through parades, Camp Hope, and other events across Salt Lake County.
