West Warwick Prevention Coalition The mission of the WWPC is to develop, implement and advocate for effective community-based substance abuse prevention strategies, polices and practices.

Objectives

•Promote community awareness of substance use and abuse in West Warwick
•Reduce the incidence of alcohol abuse and illegal drug use and their negative effects on individuals, families and the community of West Warwick
•Foster broad-based community support for reducing underage drinking
•Develop and implement effective town-wide substance abuse prevention strategies. Core Values
We

believe that West Warwick is a good community in which to live. We believe in the value of personal and community health. We believe that the abuse of alcohol and other illegal substances affects the health and safety of our citizens. We believe that we have the resources within West Warwick to build an understanding and practice to reduce underage drinking and the use of illegal substances. Membership
Membership is open to individuals who live, work, or have an interest in the town of West Warwick. The West Warwick Task Force is broad-based and should include representation from, but not limited to: interested citizens, parents, students, teachers, businesses, school department, elderly, community development groups, municipal government, religious institution, minorities, youth organizations, medical community, handicapped, police department, etc. Membership should represent both the public and private sectors of the West Warwick community on a voluntary basis.
