Sober for years, recovery coach persists, helps addicts through pandemic

Thanks Kevin for a great article on our partner, Stacey Ross. The WWPD fully supports Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri's mission, the CARE Program, and the battle against Opioid Addiction. Chief Garofalo wants to remind everyone that our HQs is a safe haven 24/7/365 for anyone who is need of assistance in the fight against addiction. Stacey and Recovery Advoxates of America truly are doing God's work as Robbinsville Twp. PD's Sgt. Kivet stated. Thank you Stacey and your staff for helping with our #NotEvenOnce program that we completed at WWPH South in March for our Senior students.--Det. Lt. Lee

Stacey Ross struggled with addiction for 20 years. Now, she's helping others.

** National Telecommunicators Week **

This week, this year, and especially last year, we recognize the
amazing work by all our dispatchers. Through the continuing pandemic,
we have isolated them in the communications center like employees of
NORAD, where they answer the calls (Literally) each and every day!
When you make the 911 call, they are the calming voice letting you
know help is on the way or talking you through life saving CPR. They
are also the voice that says OK, I am going to hang up now, help is
outside. These men and women repeat this scenario day in and day out
with hundreds of calls.
I am personally so thankful and blessed for each and every one of them!
Please join me this week in thanking them for all they do for each and
every one of us!
Chief Garofalo

Massive fire destroys apartment complex in West Windsor Township, NJ

**1130 pm UPDATE on 4/7/2021 shared from Action News 6 ABC Philadelphia including cut of Lt. McMahon News Briefing*:

As widely reported, there were (4) minor injuries to Firefighters during this incident and no civilian injuries. As we enter into Thursday morning, Chief Garofalo and Mayor Marathe's goal is to provide consolidated information to those who have inquired about assisting the (24) families displaced from the fire. Additionally, WW-P Superintendent Dr. Aderhold has already been working with his Administration to assist the school age children affected by this incident.

Chiefs Garofalo, WW Division of Fire & Emergency Services Chief Lynch, PJVFC Chief Terzian, and WWVFC Chief Carillo could not be anymore thankful to the sea of First Responders who answered the call of duty. Their collective efforts kept damage controlled to the one apartment building while preserving precious lives. Tomorrow, we will provide a complete list of those agencies that responded.

Lastly, we want to once again point out the bravery of the WWPD Officers who went door to door during the blaze to ensure those remaining in apartment units were evacuated.

This incident remains under investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office Arson Unit and the WWPD's Detective Bureau.--Det. Lt. Lee

Just prior to Spring Break, the WWP Regional School District hosted the WWPD & Plainsboro Twp. PD and #NotEvenOnce for HS Seniors at South & North respectively. For the WWPD, Det. Jany & Det. Erkoboni led a group of other Detectives, Patrol Officers, and Class III Officers in this very important Opioid Addiction instruction along with members of WWP's Health & Physical Education faculty under Athletic Director Kate Dobinson.

As part of the instruction we are honored to have the Recovery Advocates of America (part of the WWPD's CARE Program and in full support of Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri's mission) play a major role in delivering the critical messages to our Seniors, many of which many are embarking on their future collegiate educations or entering into the work world. We cannot thank Marc North & Director Stacey Ross of Recovery Advocates of America (as seen in the photo with Det. Erkoboni, Det. J. Jones, and I) for their never ending assistance in the battle against Opioid Addiction. Just a reminder from Chief Garofalo that the WWPD Headquarters is open to anyone 24/7/365 to anyone who needs immediate resources in the fight against addiction.--Det. Lt. Lee

I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger; scorn or ridicule; develop self- restraint; and to be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and regulations of my department. Is McGuire/Fort Dix practicing???? There are BIG booms going off and all of Village Grande hears it. Shaking houses.
Question for you and the department...me and two friends were going to go out and trick or treat on Halloween. I was planning on being Sting, and the other two plan on being Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. Could we be arrested for impersonating The Police?

I live on Perry Drive. A white lab wearing a harness just ran thru my yard toward the bicycle path I hope he’s heading home.
Does anyone know where I can get used newspapers? So many people get their news online now that newspaper is hard to find. I am almost out of newspaper for my wildlife sanctuary (in West Windsor)!! Please message me if you know where I can get any! Thank you so much!
Hello all, my friend, H.K. Johnson, is a professor at Mercer College, and she recently told me about how wonderful you all were when you came to deal with some folks spewing hate-speech on campus. Whoever had the idea to blast songs like "YMCA" from the patrol car speakers in order to drown out the venom is a genius. And the photo of the police officer in the article below is priceless. Thanks to all for your continued good work.
Shout out to the West Windsor officer who came to the rescue of this chipmunk who managed to get itself stuck in my backyard. When I wasn't able to dislodge the chipmunk, WW police came to the rescue; I don't know who was more grateful, me or the chipmunk. I'm sorry I didn't get the officer's name - hope she sees this and knows how much I appreciate her good humor and persistence.
Thank you to West Windsor Police Department for making sure there was safe entry and controlling traffic during the march for today's Black Lives Matter vigil.
As a citizen of WW, it my hope and prayer that my WW Police Department is not smeared or tainted by the horrific ongoings in our country. I believe the WW Police Force has coalesced the finest people to serve and protect. To protect and Serve.
