MnDOT | How to yield to emergency vehicles in a roundabout

Emergency Vehicles and Roundabouts - PLEASE SHARE

We as drivers are taught to always pull over and yield to emergency vehicles. However, doing so at a roundabout can cause delays in their response time.

-DO NOT enter a roundabout if you see or hear an emergency vehicle is approaching. Stop before any concrete islands so they can get around you.
-NEVER stop while you are inside the actual roundabout circle.
-If an emergency vehicle approaches while you are in the roundabout circle, exit immediately and pull to the right once it is safe to do so.

UPDATE NJ American Water Service Advisory: New Jersey American Water crews have completed the emergency repair to the 36-inch water supply main break in Somerville, N.J. The mandatory water conservation order has now been lifted. Customers may resume normal water use at this time.

If you experience discolored water as a result of these repairs, run your cold water taps (do not use hot) at the lowest level of your house wide open for about 3 to 5 minutes until the water clears.

West Windsor Arts announces the first of their FREE summer concerts!
B.D. Lenz Trio at Nassau Park Pavilion
July 10 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

West Windsor Arts is proud to present a summer concert series at Nassau Park Pavilion! First up are the funky jazz stylings of B.D. Lenz Trio.

Even if you’ve never heard of guitarist B.D. Lenz it’s very possible you’ve heard his music before – it’s been featured on hundreds of TV shows around the globe. He’s released twelve CDs of his unique brand of funky jazz that fuses virtuoso musicianship with expert songwriting. Joining B.D. will be James Rosocha (bass) and Joe Falcey (drums). Together, this trio will keep you surprised with their eclectic mix of jazz standards, original jams, and pop classics.

Opening the show will be eclectic, contemporary cellist Dan Kassel.

Emotionally provocative and layered in symphonic warmth, Dan Kassel’s solo cello music brings this classical instrument to new heights. Using an acoustic cello, a Boss RC-50 looping station and minimal effects, Dan bridges the gaps between Klezmer and Irish folk, Indian classical and down-tempo electronic music, levity and suspense. His ability to use technology to loop and layer his instrument into expansive tapestries of sound is impressive, but the element that really stands out is the cello’s deep and moving resonance.

Concert is located at the gazebo behind Panera Bread in Nassau Park Pavilion. “Doors” at 5pm on July 10. FREE AND FAMILY FRIENDLY! More info on our website: https://westwindsorarts.org/event/b-d-lenz-trio-at-nassau-park-pavilion/

From the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife - An Advisory on morbidity/mortality event that has been occurring in young nestling and fledgling songbirds in the mid-Atlantic region.

A morbidity/mortality event has been occurring in nestling and fledgling songbirds in the mid-Atlantic, extending into the Southeast and eastern upper Midwest. Since mid-May, numerous young birds – mainly blue jays, starlings, and common grackles, but also robins and cardinals – have been found with eye and neurologic issues, and in some cases these birds have been found dead in large numbers.

Some (but not all) of the affected birds are showing neurologic signs consisting of head tremors, leg paresis (partial paralysis or weakness), ataxia (falling to the side) or inability to stand at all, and excessive vocalizations. Also, most of the birds are in good body condition—likely still being fed by their parents.

Cases have been reported in Washington, DC, TN, KY, VA, WV, MD, DE, IN, OH, FL, PA and NJ. Many theories have been posed as to the cause of this event, however no cause has been determined at this time.

If you observe birds with any of these symptoms or find dead birds on your property, please contact the NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Wildlife Veterinarian Dr. Nicole Lewis ([email protected]) or call 877-WARN-DEP to arrange for pick-up of the birds and for any additional instructions. Dead birds should be handled with gloves, double-bagged and kept cool until picked up. In addition, any bird baths or feeders should be cleaned and removed if you find sick or dead birds on your property.

On behalf of Freedom Village Social Services Coordinator JoAnne Sherry and Property Manager Anthony Battis, Mayor Hemant Marathe, Council Members Andrea Mandel, Sonia Gawas, Mike Stevens, Andrew Hersh and myself, I want to thank everyone who donated clothing today. There were more than 250 large clothing bags for our fellow residents. Any extra clothing will go to other Freedom Village and Project Freedom developments in Mercer County. The managers were truly touched by your outstanding generosity. Great effort West Windsor!
MY wife and are both age 87 years old and apparently elegible for vaccination in"Phase 1A. How can we register to do this?
Hello! Where may I drop of the application for certification for smoke alarms, fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide compliance? Are you conducting in-person inspections? I just got them all replaced and tested at one of my listings that's closing in January and wanted to know the process. Thank you
Is there a way to enforce people with dogs cleaning up after their dogs? The Trail off rabbit Hill Road is very bad and it is unbelievable that an educated bunch of citizens behave so poorly. Thank you
I just found a Spotted Lanternfly in our yard. Please watch out for them!
With the Governor's new announcement, are township offices open? (Code enforcement and permits, specifically)
To stop COVID-19 spread West Windsor should immediately impose strict limits on the number of panicky shoppers mobbing local supermarkets. WHY shut down public gatherings and schools, while permitting HUGE THRONGS in stores, an OBVIOUS public health danger ?? Airborne transmission is a huge factor in the extremely rapid spread of the disease, and our Federal and State response is frankly totally inadequate. I urge local officials to take action now.

Mayor Marathe was featured on the Geeta Chopra Show tonight. I love this show and now I love this Mayor! Mike from N.J. Corruption Watch!
We live in west Windsor off of village rd in one of the developments. Last night as we were sleeping someone ransacked all the insides of our cars and stole basically just change and a couple of gift cards. We don’t normally lock our cars or leave them in the garage ( we’ve never had this problem before) but going forward we clearly need to. I just want to warn all the residents of West Windsor/ Princeton Junction that this happened. Be aware and take precaution!
We have been trying to have someone resolve a town planted tree issue in front of our home since April. It is completely rotted and now there are termites. Our pest control can't touch it because it's technically the towns. We need this tree removed before we get termites in our home. We always get a "we'll have someone call you back" and it goes nowhere. Appreciate if someone can help.
