Voices of West Windsor

When we started Voices of West Windsor, we wanted to bring forward the voices who have brought change in our community. Kashmiri Delorey is a true example of that. As someone who’s lived in this township for over 30 years, he has been a huge part in the development of this town through his work in the Lion’s Club. However, his work does not stop there. Kash believes that we still have so much left to do, especially in the realm of senior accessibility. To hear more about his vision for the future, check out his interview at Voices of West Windsor.

WW Lions club members attended the funeral service of a fellow Lion Robert M. Cox , and the sorrow we felt was immense. It hurts to see a friend go, to leave their loved ones behind, and for us to know that we shall never see nor speak to them again is incredibly painful. However, seeing how rich his life was and seeing the things that he’s accomplished, we realize that we are so blessed to have known him.

Lion Robert M. Cox was a very kind hearted, friendly, generous person and who believed in giving back. He served the U.S. Air Force for 8 years and was honorably discharged in 1964. He volunteered at the Princeton
Hook and Ladder Co. and served as an Usher in his St David Church. He served as a proud Commander of the American Legion Post 76 West Windsor. He joined West Windsor Lions Club in 1976. He served the Lions club in a number of key positions. He loved Golfing, hiking and sailing.

He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Rest In Peace, and we will miss you forever.

On September 24th, 2020, West Windsor Lions Club delivered a truckload of ( 10 Pallets or 650 boxes or approximately 12,000) fresh produce to Mercer Street Friends (MSF). Thanks to DG Nalit Patel District 16N for procuring the shipment and Lion Subarna Sahni of Princeton Lions Club for partnering this project. A number of groups in Trenton Area take the food from MSF and deliver it to the needy. We made partnership with MSF CEO Bernie Flynn and we are hoping to provide assistance in many projects including Vision Screening and further help in feeding the identified population in the coming weeks and months. I want to thank West Windsor Lions Club President Avinash Delory and Livingston Lions Club President Kamlesh Patel for their assistance.
West Windsor Lions Club and it's Community STEP Leo Club stepped up to the NJ Eye Glass Recycling Center, West Trenton, on Saturday, January 18, 2020. Nine Leos, three Lions, Lion Kash Delory, Lion Avinash Delory, Lion Gloria Shah, her daughter Jessica Shah and three parents came out to learn the ABC of recycling glasses. We learned a lot about the Eye Glass recycling program from separating scrap from the eye glasses, metallic frames to be melted to classifying the good usable frames. Recycling Center Representative, Jim Spada (with the cow boy hat ) laid out clear step by step instructions and we all had fun doing it. Further more, West Windsor Lions Club donated 445 pairs of eye glasses to the Recycling Center. They were collected from Collection mail box at the West Windsor McCafferys and the the America Best Contacts and Eye Glasses Nassau Park location. America Best now has two collection Boxes with Lions Logo. Thanks to America Best, all Lions, the Leos and their parents for volunteering their time.
