Well, we couldn’t stop at Engine 1 and Squad 1… so Engine 2 was next in line!

Once again, the crew at Mission Cheer Academy absolutely knocked it out of the park! Engine 2 is looking CLEAN and ready to roll! ✨🚒

We can’t thank everyone at Mission Cheer Academy enough for taking such great care of our trucks today. Three fire trucks later, and they’re still going strong! 💪

If you haven’t stopped by their car wash fundraiser yet, get over there! They’re washing until 4 PM, and it’s only $10. Cars, trucks, ambulances, fire trucks… apparently they’ll tackle just about anything with wheels! 😂

And remember… approach the bake sale at your own risk. 🍪🧁 You WILL leave with something!

🚒🧽 ROUND TWO IS COMPLETE! 🧽🚒

We told you we’d be back with Squad 1, and the crew from Mission Cheer Academy knocked it out of the park AGAIN! 👏

Squad 1 rolled in needing a bath and rolled out shining and looking parade-ready! ✨🚒 These kids are working hard today, and they did an awesome job making sure every inch was cleaned up.

And remember, the car wash is ONLY $10 and they’re there until 4 PM TODAY! So get down there and put them to work! Cars, trucks, SUVs, ambulances, fire trucks… we’re pretty sure if you can get it there, they’ll find a way to wash it! 😂🧼

⚠️ Fair warning: That bake sale is still there, and walking past those baked goods without buying something may be physically impossible. 🍪🧁

🚒 Training Opportunities Wanted! 🚒

The West Wyoming Fire Department is always looking for opportunities to help our members learn, grow, and become the best firefighters they can be.

We are reaching out to our fellow fire departments, instructors, and training organizations to see if anyone knows of any upcoming fire, rescue, EMS, or specialty training courses that our members could attend.

We are interested in everything from junior firefighter programs and Firefighter Essentials classes, Bucks County Fire Academy programs, and entry-level training all the way up to advanced firefighter, officer, rescue, truck company, RIT, pump operations, vehicle rescue, hazmat, and live fire classes.

If your department is hosting a class or you know of one coming up anywhere in luzerne county or nearby, we’d greatly appreciate it if you could share the information in the comments or send us a private message.

It is with heavy hearts that the members of the West Wyoming Fire Department learned of the passing of a true legend, Bob White.

While many knew Bob for his incredible singing talent and the joy he brought to so many through music, our community also knew him as a hero. Bob proudly served for many years as a Captain with the West Wyoming Community Ambulance, dedicating countless hours to helping others in their times of greatest need. His compassion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving our community earned him the respect and admiration of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bob’s legacy extends far beyond the stage. His impact will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched, both as an entertainer and as a public servant.

On behalf of the West Wyoming Fire Department, we extend our deepest condolences to Bob’s family, friends, and all who are mourning this tremendous loss.

Rest easy, Captain. Thank you for your service, your kindness, and the lasting legacy you’ve left behind. You will never be forgotten. ❤️🚑🚒

Today, assistant chief Dave Granteed and 4 of our dedicated members of the West Wyoming Hose Company #1 traveled to Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Company to participate in an outstanding Flashover Recognition & Survival training course presented by the Pennsylvania Fire Academy.

The Academy brought their specialized flashover simulator trailer, giving firefighters the opportunity to experience one of the most dangerous fire conditions they can encounter in a controlled and safe environment. Under the guidance of highly trained instructors, our members entered the trailer and witnessed firsthand how rapidly conditions can change inside a structure fire.

As temperatures climbed, our firefighters experienced the intense heat and watched the smoke gases ignite, creating a true flashover demonstration with fire rolling directly over their heads. This realistic, hands-on training helps firefighters recognize the warning signs of a flashover, improve decision-making, and develop the skills needed to survive these life-threatening situations.

Training like this is invaluable and reinforces our commitment to providing the safest and most effective service possible to the residents of West Wyoming. We would like to thank Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Company for hosting this incredible training opportunity and the Pennsylvania Fire Academy instructors for sharing their knowledge and expertise.

We are proud of our members for continuing to train, learn, and prepare for the challenges they may face on the fireground.
