We are so excited to have finally laid the first layer of asphalt on this Stormwater site in the Town of Dennis. Stay tuned to see us install three beautiful bioretention areas and a town-sponsored boat ramp too.
It's all to benefit the shellfish and water in Follins Pond!
Thank you USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for making this dream a reality via the CCWRRP!

Our team has been busy! We had beautiful weather for our soils training this week with . Cape Cod has been formed and shaped by both glacial and coastal processes. We observed organic soils, windblown deposits of fine sand and silt, and layers of oxidized (high levels of oxygen - red/yellow) and reduced (low levels of oxygen -grey/blue) soils.

Perks of the job. Sometimes, there are puddles!

I'm enjoying this one silly bit, but our goal is to capture rain runoff so it doesn't collect like this in the future. It can poison the shellfish you eat 😬🤢

Happy Earth Day!

We've taken advantage of some recent rainy weather to photograph existing conditions at a few of our upcoming stormwater project sites!

Do you recognize any of these places? Hint: One of them is under construction RIGHT NOW!

In these areas, rain washes pollutants off the road and then flows untreated into waterways where it can contaminate clams, oysters, and other shellfish. We partner with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and town offices on the Cape to capture and filter this stormwater, protecting the shellfish you eat and improving overall water quality. These projects are brought to you by the Cape Cod Water Resource Restoration Project.
