🚔 Chief’s Thursday Tip 🚔
We are officially in Montana’s “100 Deadliest Days of Summer,” the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day when traffic fatalities and serious crashes historically increase across the state.
Chief Corey White and the entire West Yellowstone Police Department staff want to remind everyone that summer in West Yellowstone brings heavy traffic, crowded intersections, wildlife activity, and thousands of visitors who may be unfamiliar with local roads and traffic patterns.
Throughout the summer months, officers will continue proactive traffic enforcement focusing on:
✅ Speeding
✅ Distracted driving
✅ DUI enforcement
✅ Seatbelt violations
✅ Pedestrian safety
Please remember:
🚶 Watch for pedestrians crossing throughout town
📱 Put the phone down while driving
🍺 Never drive impaired
🦬 Be alert for wildlife, especially during early morning and evening hours
🚐 Be patient with increased RV and tourist traffic
A few extra seconds of patience can prevent a lifetime of regret.
Our goal is simple — keeping residents, visitors, and first responders safe during one of the busiest seasons of the year.
Have a safe summer, West Yellowstone! 🚔☀️🦬
