Between a dispatched high risk structure fire to York Twp. and an automatic fire alarm to the city, crews were able to get out and exercise our loaner engine that we’re borrowing while our quint is being serviced. Thank you to York New Salem Fire Co. for letting us borrow their rescue/engine !!

Last Sat. just after 9PM, crews were dispatched to West Manchester Twp. for the house fire. York Co. 911 were receiving calls of fire and smoke showing. Eng. 1 arrived directly behind Eng. 505 and assumed the 1st arriving special service completing searches, assisting with fire attack, laddering the building and venting the roof. Crews remained on scene for several hours before clearing. Thank you to Jacobus Vol. Fire Co. for back filling the station for the duration.

After the city fire this morning, staff took advantage of the weather and cleaned the ladder tunnel, ladders  and apparatus bay floors.

Just before 11:00 this morning, units were dispatched Mutual Aid to the city for a reported housefire. Crews assisted city units with checking for extension, overhaul and cleanup. Crews were operating for approx. an hour.

Yesterday morning just after 10:30 Truck 1 was dispatched to the 800 block of Stoverstown Rd. for a house fire. Crews remained on scene operating for several hours before being released.

Last Thursday evening, just after 6:30, Co. 1 and surrounding mutual aid departments were dispatched to a residential structure fire in West York Borough. Units arrived with normal conditions and found that, while cleaning a bathroom, someone had accidentally sprayed a cleaning liquid into an open light socket causing it to short out. Power was quickly isolated from the bathroom and the box was held.
