UPDATED: Meeting Info on Comprehensive Plan Update. The West Des Moines Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council will hold separate public hearings to consider a request by the City of West Des Moines Development Services staff to update the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
In addition to a hearing on the overall Comprehensive Plan documents and Land Use Map, the Commission will hold additional discussions and provide direction on the land use classifications to apply to the following locations of the city:
1. Northwest, Northeast and Southeast corners of IA-5 and SE 35th Street
2. Northeast corner of SW Grand Prairie Parkway and Veterans Parkway
3. Area west of S Grand Prairie Parkway, East of S. 115th Street/V Place and North of Grand Avenue
4. Northeast corner of Mills Civic Parkway and S Grand Prairie Parkway
5. Northwest corner of Veterans Parkway and SE 35th Street

The Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting will be 5:30 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022. The Planning and Zoning commission meeting will be held via zoom. Connection information for zoom will be found on the meeting agenda posted to the city’s website (www.wdm.iowa.gov) on the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022.
The City Council Meeting will be at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Electronic public input to the City Council meeting can be provided by calling the number and entering the pin number found on the meeting agenda posted to the city’s website (www.wdm.iowa.gov) on the evening of Friday, September 9, 2022.
Individuals wishing to participate in-person may do so at the respective time and day of the meetings from within the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa. Any interested person may participate by calling the telephone number and entering the information shown on the respective meeting agenda.
