We currently provide assistance to more than 2,000 households in West Des Moines and surrounding western suburbs. As a department within the City of West Des Moines, we provide support and assistance to community members in emergency or crisis situations to ensure their safety and to improve their quality of life. Basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter and transportation are a few of the crit
ical services provided by West Des Moines Human Services. The Food Pantry located at West Des Moines Human Services is sponsored by the Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) and is stocked by DMARC, the Food Bank of Iowa and community donations.
