"I was terrified the first time I did skin-to-skin with Gabriel in the NICU. I remember wondering how it was even possible to hold such a tiny baby.
He weighted 900g.
Fourteen years later, I can still close my eyes and feel his little body on my chest. so fragile and skinny, almost like a Barbie doll. It felt so different from holding my first son, a full-term baby. But in that moment, despite all the fear and uncertainty, I truly felt like his mom.
It was an explosion of love, connection, and reassurance that together we were going to fight through whatever came next"
