The Burlington County Health Department, with limited funding from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), is offering a subsidy of up to $500 toward PFAS testing for eligible private well owners in Burlington County.

Program Details:
• Eligible applicants must own a private well in Burlington County.
• Receive up to $500 toward PFAS testing costs.
• All test results must be submitted by August 20, 2026.
• Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Due to the continuing extreme heat conditions, Burlington County is extending operations of the cooling center at the Burlington Conty Main Branch Library (5 Pioneer Boulevard, Westampton, NJ 08060) through the weekend.

The cooling center will be open Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, from 11 AM to 4 PM. No library services will be provided but the public will have access to restrooms, a water dispenser, seating, and vending machines.

Staff from the Burlington County Library System, Burlington County Department of Human Services and County Health Department will be present, along with volunteers from the Burlington County Citizens Emergency Response Team and Medical Reserve Corps.

The other Burlington County Library System branches will remain closed over the weekend for the Fourth of July holiday.

Burlington County remains under an Extreme Heat Warning due to dangerously hot conditions and heat indexes topping 100 degrees. Residents should be aware of the extreme risk for heat-related illnesses and are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms if possible and avoid strenuous outdoor activities.

Due to the extreme conditions and the risks for heat-related illnesses, Burlington County will open a cooling center on Friday, July 3, in the lobby of the Burlington County Main Branch Library (5 Pioneer Boulevard, Westampton, NJ 08060).

The cooling center will be open from 9 AM to 5 PM to provide indoor relief for any residents who require it. No library services will be provided, but the public will have access to restrooms, a water dispenser, seating and vending machines.

The cooling center will be staffed with personnel from the Burlington County Library System and Burlington County Department of Human Services, along with volunteers from the Burlington County Citizens Emergency Response Team and Medical Reserve Corps.

The other Burlington County Library System branches will be closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the Fourth of July holiday. The Main Branch library will also be closed Saturday and Sunday.
