As communities across Massachusetts continue to experience increasing numbers of mental health-related calls for service, maintaining strong partnerships and access to behavioral health resources remains critical to public safety.

Today, MCOPA released a new Public Service Announcement highlighting the importance of co-response programs and the role they play in helping officers safely respond to behavioral health crises while connecting individuals with the services they need.

This PSA comes at an important time as the Fiscal Year 2027 budget remains before the House-Senate conference committee and funding for Jail Diversion and co-response programs continues to be discussed.

Chief Michael J Bradley, Jr. (Ret.). (n.d.). Executive Director, Massachusetts Chief of Police Association, Inc.
