There's no better time to support our local farmers, enjoy fresh Connecticut-grown produce, and take advantage of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program! The Madison Farmers' Market is today from 3pm-6pm. The Middletown Farmers' Market is today from 10am-2pm. And the Old Saybrook Farmers' Market is tomorrow from 9am-12:30pm.

Join us at the Valley Shore YMCA TOMORROW, August 6th at 12pm for a free community training: "Opioid Overdose Prevention & Narcan Education".

Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to signs of an overdose, including how to effectively administer Narcan, and will receive a naloxone kit to take home. Lunch will be provided at no cost!

The Connecticut Department of Agriculture provides income-eligible older adults (age 60+) with electronic benefit cards that can be used to purchase eligible items at participating farmers' markets.

If you already participate, call Westbrook Social Services to renew your benefit card for this farmers market season. If you're new to the program, we're happy to help you enroll!

As many of you know, Wednesday, June 24th will be my last day serving the Town of Westbrook through Social Services. This transition is truly bittersweet.

I want to sincerely thank the Westbrook community for welcoming me with open arms over the past two years. It has been an honor to serve this town, connect with so many incredible residents, and work alongside community partners who care deeply about supporting one another. I am incredibly grateful for the relationships built during my time here.

Please note that with this transition, there will be temporary changes to the Social Services office hours. Moving forward, the office will be open:

• Mondays: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Thursdays: 10:00 AM – 5:30 PM

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of this community. Westbrook will always hold a special place in my heart.

Did you know the Free trolley in Clinton has started back up for season?!
Sharing the following from River Valley Transit:

"Free Clinton Trolley, serving Hammonasset Beach, Shopping and More now in Operation
The popular and free Clinton Trolley operated by River Valley Transit in partnership with the town of Clinton, will run through Labor Day.
Providing free public transportation to Hammonasset Beach, Clinton Town Docks, the Downtown Clinton Arts District, Hull Library, and retail centers at Liberty Green, Indian River Shops, and Clinton Crossing Outlets, the Trolley provides a relaxing, hassle-free way to enjoy the day and all that Clinton has to offer.
The trolley operates from noon to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.
