Today's 'Throwback Thursday' features Cosmetology! Towards the end of the year our Tech II students provided treatments to the Tech I students. This was a great day for all! Tech II students got to utilize their skills and the Tech I students were pampered while also getting to see how far they will progress by the time they finish their second year!

Today's 'Throwback Thursday' features Medical Occupations! Our medical occupation students are trained in so many areas! On this day they were working on dissections! This is one example of how students can earn integrated credits at WRVC. Students in our Medical Occupations Program can earn integrated credits for Science, Math and English!

Today's 'Throwback Thursday, in honor of the 4th of July, features our First Responder Programs, EMT, Fire Fighting and Criminal Justice.

From learning how to properly load patients into the ambulance and working as a team to put the firehose away, to volunteering at Wreaths Across America and presenting the flags as part of the color guard at our end of the year ceremony, these students learned a lot and supported our communities along the way!

Today's 'Throwback Thursday' is the MRE Challenge! The National Guard worked with Culinary Arts students to have our students create the best meal possible. using ingredients from MREs as the base! (MRE - Meals Ready to Eat) The students used a lot of creativity and thought outside of the box!

WRVC's Teacher of the Year, Kirk Nygren, was recognized by the Westbrook School Committee at last week's board meeting. Mr. Nygren was accompanied by his wife, Betsy and one of their daughters, Cara, who has completed two years in the Building Trades Program.

Meet the newly Certified Early Childhood Assistants (CECA) from our Education Pathways Program! These students. have been working to become certified through Maine Roads to Quality (MRTQ). This certification criteria requires CPR/First Aid Certification, passing a NOCTI (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) exam, a completed portfolio with evidence of learning and development, 180 classroom hours, and 180 Lab/Field Hours. All of these Tech II students met the requirements to get this credential. This is an amazing accomplishment and will help our students stand out as they move into their next chapters! Congratulations!

Congratulations to our outstanding CNA students on successfully passing their Maine State Certified Nursing Assistant Exam!

Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to caring for others have paid off, and they are now one step closer to making a difference in the healthcare field. We are incredibly proud of their achievement and excited to see the impact they will have in their communities and beyond.
