Westbrook Learns Program The Westbrook LEARNS page includes program updates and information for parents to stay up to date! The program currently serves students in grades K-4.

This page will offer regular updates on Westbrook Community Center children's initiatives, such as the LEARNS before- and after-school program, summer camp, vacation camps, and other activities. Westbrook LEARNS is a comprehensive program that aims to provide high-quality programming at an affordable price for Westbrook residents. We incorporate goals like academic improvement, health and wellness

Due to the winter storm, Westbrook Schools, along with the Westbrook Learns Program (Before- and After-School), will be CLOSED ALL DAY today, Tuesday, December 2!

All other Westbrook Community Center in-house programs thru at least 11am — group aquatics classes, swim lessons, pickleball, and toddler open play, have been CANCELLED!

Weather conditions and the forecast will be monitored and additional cancellations may occur throughout the day. All storm-related notifications will be posted online at www.WestbrookCommunityCenter.org and on the Westbrook Community Center's page. You may also call the Reception & Information Center during normal reception hours, 5am-4pm, at 207.854.0676, or e-mail [email protected].

Some tenants and businesses located at the facility may use different weather protocols. When in doubt, please contact your supervisor or program instructor.

Due to the winter storm, Westbrook Schools, along with the Westbrook Learns Program (Before- and After-School), will be CLOSED ALL DAY today, Thursday, February 13!

All other Westbrook Community Center in-house programs thru at least 11am — group aquatics classes, swim lessons, pickleball, and toddler open play, have been CANCELLED!

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER CAMP 2025 FOR WESTBROOK RESIDENTS IS NOW OPEN!

Camp is open to students entering grades 1-6 in the Fall and will run for eight weeks, from Monday, June 23, thru Friday, August 15, 7:30am-5:30pm each day. Please note that there will be NO camp on July 4.

Expect exciting theme weeks, weekly field trips, special guests, outdoor games, arts & crafts, storytelling, swimming, an end-of-summer talent show, interactive games, and so much more!

Non-residents may register, subject to availability, starting on Tuesday, March 11.

For more information, including fees, required deposits, final payment dates, specific instructions, a list of field trips and themes, and to register, please visit:

Before and During Registration:
• Confirm that you can log into your existing account without any problems.
• Make sure that the child(ren) you intend to register for camp are listed on your household account, along with their current grade. (current grades should be K-5) To update grades only, contact Reception by calling 207.854.0676 or e-mailing [email protected].
• Review and update your contact information on your account, including your e-mail address, phone number, and mailing address, to ensure you receive all important summer camp updates.
• You will not be able to register your child if there is an outstanding balance; please ensure that any past due account balances are settled.
• During the registration process, please complete ALL prompts.

Don't forget to review and update any information that might have been transferred from previous programs.

Westbrook Schools have a two-hour delay today, Monday, February 3, so, as a result, there will be NO Westbrook LEARNS before-school program.

All other Westbrook Community Center programs are expected to run as usual.

Families can now stop by on Tuesday evenings after picking their children up from our LEARNS after-school program!

Cornelia's Closet, the re-sale thrift shop located at the front of the Westbrook Community Center at 426 Bridge Street in Westbrook, is now open on Tuesdays from 9am-1pm ... and again from 4-6pm!

Come by and shop their amazing inventory, especially with the holidays quickly approaching. There are always great discounts, and always something for everyone!

Please remember that they are a cash-only program.

Note that donations are accepted only during hours of store operation, which are:

• Tuesdays: 9am-1pm AND 4-6pm
• Wednesdays: 9am-1pm
• Fridays: 9am-1pm
• Some select Saturdays

Summer Camp Parents … pick up the kids, and grab dinner, too — TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7, 4-8PM, at the Westbrook Community Center!

Join us TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 7, 4-8PM, for Week #15 of 17 of the 2024 Bridge StrEAT Food Park, and then again the next two weeks — August 14 & 21 — in the side parking lot and athletic field between the Westbrook Community Center and Congin Elementary School!

The 15 food vendors participating in this Wednesday’s Bridge StrEAT Food Park are Alabama's BBQ Catering, Barry Larry's, Cheese The Day, Cruzin Slice, Eighty 8 Donuts, Fred’s Fried Dough, Great Scott's Mac Wagon, King Of Donair, Meet on the Street, Mr. Sea's Lobster Pound & Fry Shack, Naturally Jammin LLC, Pam & Fam Forkin' Good Grub, Pinky D's Poutine Factory, The Squeeze, and The Treat Truck!

Registration for the 2024-2025 school year opens today, Monday, May 28, at 8am!

Registration for Westbrook LEARNS, the Westbrook Community Center's before- and after-school program for the 2024/2025 school year, opens this morning, Tuesday, May 28, at 8am!

Westbrook LEARNS is a comprehensive program that supervises Westbrook elementary-aged students in grades K-4 in a before- and after-school setting. Students engage with peers and staff in both structured and unstructured activity blocks. The LEARNS before & after-school program runs weekdays, except for holidays and school closures. Before school runs 7-8:30am, while after-school programming takes place from school dismissal until 5:30pm.

The LEARNS before- & after-school program begins on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, and will take place at the following locations this coming year:

- Canal Students at Canal Elementary School
- Congin Students at the Westbrook Community Center
- Saccarappa Students at Saccarappa Elementary School

FMI and to register for Westbrook LEARNS, please visit the 'LEARNS & Camps' tab found in the catalog at www.WestbrookCommunityCenter.org and follow these steps:

1. Ensure that you have an existing account in our system and that it's up to date
• If you do not have an account, you can create one

2. Click on the following Catalog link: 'LEARNS & Camps'

3. Continue to 2024-2025 LEARNS, choose the correct school (Canal, Congin or Saccarappa), and daypart (before, after, or both)

4. Complete the registration process. A credit card is required to be on file and will be auto-billed (1st of the month for monthly billing / every Friday for weekly billing / every other Friday for bi-weekly billing)
• If selecting a payment plan, a one-day deposit is due at time of registration ($8 for before-school, $18 for after-school)

• Please pay close attention to the billing schedule (dates are subject to change based on holidays or vacation weeks)

Camp, which is open to students entering grades 1-6, will run for eight weeks, from Monday, June 24, thru Friday, August 16, 7:30am-5:30pm each day. There will be NO camp July 4-5 due to the holiday.
