Lots of fun activities are happening in June at Walker! Check out our flyer, or look at our online calendar!

Storytimes are Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30am-11am. *New Baby Lapsit (ages 0-2 with caregiver) is every other Wednesday from 10:30am-11am. Outdoor Storytimes at the Westbrook Common start Fridays in June and run through the end of July (*weather permitting)!

We have afternoon programs for kids on Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30pm, including crafts and construction club (LEGO and more!).

Saturdays in June we will have movies from the 2020s showing in our historic wing at 2pm (see our online calendar for titles). Free popcorn and candy provided!

From Sit and Stitch, the Locker Project, Pokémon Club, Silly Science, Adult/Teen Crafting, Little Roots Family Music Time, and more, there are so many reasons to visit the library!

Here is the new June 2026 Early Literacy Calendar from the Public Library Association! Each day suggests a fun way to build literacy skills with your child.
We also have printed copies you can pick up in our Youth Services room and take home, in English and Spanish. We will have a new one available each month in 2026!

Every Saturday in May we will be showing a science fiction movie in our historic wing, starting at 2pm! Free popcorn and candy will be provided.
Tomorrow's (May) movie hint: In this classic 80s film, an alien is stranded on Earth and befriends a young boy.

It's a Pokémon Club week! This Thursday, May 28th from 3:30-4:30pm and this Saturday, May 30th from 1-2pm in our youth services program room!

Learn how to play the Pokémon card game, or just have fun crafting and hanging out with other Pokémon fans! Come to any or all of the club meetings! For ages 5 to 18. Ages 8 and under must be with caregiver.

Tomorrow (Friday, May 22nd) is our Little Roots Family Music Time program at Walker Memorial Library!

This is for ages 0-5 with a caregiver. From 10:30-11:15am our friends from 317 Main Community Music Center will be teaching us songs, rhymes, and movement!

No registration is required. The program will be held in our Youth Program Room.
This program is kindly funded by the Friends of the Walker Memorial Library.

Our friends at The Locker Project are coming to Walker Memorial Library tomorrow (Thursday, May 21st) from 11am to 12pm in our Youth Services Program Room!
They will be bringing free, fresh food for anyone to take home. Come take some fresh food home with you and help us reduce food waste and hunger!

Tomorrow morning (Wednesday, May 20th) we have Baby Lapsit!

What is Baby Lapsit? Babies from age 0 to 2* are invited with their caregivers to participate in a calm 20-minute program with age-appropriate books, rhymes, songs, and movement, followed by 10 minutes of free play. Lapsit will be held in our Youth Program Room. Baby Lapsit is held every other Wednesday from 10:30-11am. Upcoming dates are: May 20th, June 3rd, June 17th, July 1st, July 15th, and July 29th.

*Older siblings are welcome to participate, but lapsit is geared towards babies and will be lower energy and volume than our Tuesday/Thursday Family Storytimes.

Our May 16th movie hint: A sci-fi adventure from the early 2000s where two boys find a mysterious board game that sends their house into space! Can they finish the game and get back home?
