It's a Pokémon Club week! This Thursday, Sept. 3rd (that's tomorrow!) from 3:30-4:30pm in our youth services program room!

This month we have two Pokémon Club meetings scheduled:
Thursday, Sept. 3 and Thursday, Sept. 17.
We don't have any Saturday Pokémon Club meetings yet, but stay tuned!

Learn how to play the Pokémon card game, or just have fun crafting and hanging out with other Pokémon fans! Come to any or all of the club meetings! For ages 5 to 18. Ages 8 and under must be with caregiver.

Here is the new September 2026 Early Literacy Calendar from the Public Library Association! Each day suggests a fun way to build literacy skills with your child.

We also have printed copies you can pick up in our Youth Services room and take home, in English and Spanish. We will have a new one available each month in 2026!

Family Storytime on Tuesday, Sept. 1st and Thursday, Sept. 3rd at 10:30am.
Baby Lapsit on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 10:30am.
Kids' Crafternoon: Crowns and Headbands on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd from 3:30-4:30pm.
And Pokémon Club on Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 3:30-4:30pm!

This Caturday (Saturday, August 29) is our LAST Saturday Afternoon Cat Movie* in our historic wing! Free popcorn and candy! Movie titles are on our online calendar. *Do not bring your cat. Kids under age 8 must be with an adult.

After this movie our Saturday Movie program will be taking a little break for September, but don't worry! It will be back!

August 29 movie hint: This animated movie has a swashbuckling cat (who loves to wear boots) who needs to find a wishing star to get his past 8 lives back! Rated PG.

Spend time in our historic wing on Friday, August 28th from 3 - 4:30pm upstairs in our historic reading room! This is the last "Hanging out in the Historic Wing" for the summer!
Come put together a puzzle, play board games, knit, crochet, read, or just relax!
Open to all ages, but kids 8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. No food, and all drinks must be covered.

Family Storytimes and Baby Lapsits start next week (Sept. 1 - 3)!

Family Storytime is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am in our Youth Program Room.
*Note that there is no storytime on Tuesday, Sept. 8th.

Baby Lapsit is on Wednesdays at 10:30am in our Youth Program Room. Lapsit is a gentle storytime for ages 0-2 with their caregivers.

Lots of fun things to do at Walker Memorial Library this September! Check it out!

Family Storytimes and Baby Lapsit starts back up the first week of September. We've got kids' crafternoons, Pokémon Club, Silly Science, Sit and Stitch, adult/teen crafting, Silent Book Club, and more!
