Check it out! Jessica is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education and her professor suggested having a food drive for one of her projects. The drive was a success and Jessica delivered a carload of food to the Pantry yesterday! Thanks, Jessica, and continued success in your studies!

Thanks to the wonderful kids of La Grange Park Girl Scout Troops 55767 and 55598. They volunteered at the Pantry last night, helping clients choose food and loading vehicles. We appreciate their enthusiasm for service and kindness for community members. Thanks, Scouts! ❤️

We are dangerously low on client service volunteers for the month of June. Volunteer counts are so low on some days that we simply won’t have enough volunteers to serve clients, and we will have to turn people away. We especially need help on June 7, 11, 14, 21 and 28.

Client service shifts are Wednesdays 4-7:30pm and Saturdays 8:30am-12pm. Kids age 10-11 can volunteer with a parent, kids age 12 and older can volunteer with a parent’s permission.

Summer is a great time to get involved at the Westchester Food Pantry, especially as we often experience a shortage of volunteers during these warmer months. Whether you’re looking to give back to the community or just have some extra time during school break, now is the perfect opportunity to jump in and make a difference. Volunteering not only helps ensure our neighbors in need receive food and support, but it also offers a meaningful way to spend your time with purpose.

Volunteering at the Pantry is especially rewarding for families. It’s a great way to build family morale, strengthen bonds, and create lasting memories through shared service. Children ages 10 and 11 are welcome to volunteer alongside a parent or guardian, and kids 12 and older can volunteer with a parent’s permission. Whether sorting donations, stocking shelves, or distributing food, every task is an opportunity to teach compassion, teamwork, and gratitude. We invite you and your family to sign up and be part of something truly impactful this summer.

The 2025 Yard Sale Extravaganza was a HUGE success! We raised over $17,000 for the Pantry—this is the most money ever raised at this event. Thanks so much to all of our donors and shoppers, and especially our volunteers! Over 400 volunteers hours went into the three donation drop-off days, and another 400 hours for the sale itself. Special thanks to the Westchester Community Church for hosting, and to YSE Chairs Jim and Claudia Gabel for all of their hard work.
