Meet Excellence in Bleu board member, Speaker Joe Tate! 🤩

Speaker Tate has served in the Michigan House of Representatives since 2018 and is the first Black lawmaker to serve as Speaker. He is a former NFL player and Marine Corps veteran who did two tours in Afghanistan. After serving, he returned to Michigan and helped small businesses as a program manager for the Detroit Economic Growth Corp.

We had an incredible time at America SCORES Chicago's annual Junior Jamboree tournament ⚽! Thank you to America SCORES Chicago Executive Director, and Woman in Power, Kimberly Townsend for having us. America SCORES promotes youth development through soccer, poetry, and service learning. We are proud to provide the organization with $25,000 on behalf of Excellence in Bleu.

Meet Excellence in Bleu board member, Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch! 🤩

Speaker Welch has served as a State Representative in the Illinois General Assembly for over ten years. In 2021, he became Illinois' first Black Speaker of the House of Representatives. Before joining the Legislature, Speaker Welch served 12 years on the Proviso Township High School Board of Education, including 10 as board chair.
