Barcelona Lighthouse

Barcelona Lighthouse Finished in 1829, the 40-foot tall Barcelona Lighthouse (Portland Harbor) was the very first natural gas lighthouse in the country world.

he original lens, nor is used for navigational purposes, it is still lit and visible today through an agreement with the Town of Westfield. The lighthouse is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historical Places.

Update: Due to the special type of glass needed, we are told it will not be in until likely the first week of January. So, a little longer than we hoped. We will still be open to the public this weekend 10-5pm to visit, climb the tower and make any last minute purchases in the gift shop. Then our site will close until next Memorial Day weekend.

Unfortunately, one of the glass panes on the lantern has broken. So, the tower light is temporarily off while we get it replaced and then National Fuel comes to re-light it; should only be a couple of days. Thank you for your patience in the dark 💡
