If you have the older style smoke detectors they take the 9 volt square batteries. If you have the newer 10 year sealed units. Remember to test either of them monthly. They are supposed to warn you when the batteries get weak but don't rely on that. Test them yourselves. Don't take a chance, lives depend on them functioning properly. Stay safe.
ends next weekend. Don't forget to when you ! The manufacturing date is on the back. Replace after 10 years and alarms after 5-7 years. Put fresh alkaline batteries in alarms that use them. And if you're replacing your alarms, choose one that has a sealed, long-life battery: you won't have to change the battery for 10 years!
