So as the cold weather continues please check on your elderly neighbors and please don't keep your animals out to long.
If traveling keep Xtra supplies in your car for warmth just in case.
As always stay safe .

Latest update from the weather center is we can expect freezing temperatures sometime after 4pm today. If the remaining winds do not dry the roadways we will see slippery conditions. Use extreme caution when traveling as not to ruin your holiday weekend.
Also windchills this weekend are expected to be below zero so if doing outdoor activities dress appropriately. And also be mindful of your pets. They can experience frostbite as well as humans.
Not to offend anyone but, MERRY CHRISTMAS and be safe.

This is the current prediction of the upcoming storm. As we all know mother nature does as she likes. But better to be prepared than not. Take the time to charge phones and any back up power supplies. Keep flashlight's handy, have extra blankets available and make sure you have downloaded weather update apps . You can also monitor the weather on MEMA's website. Go to Mass.gov/MEMA.
Please check on elderly neighbors if the storm gets really bad. And please please do not use the 911 call center for downed tree's or icy roads. During storms they are extremely busy with accidents and health related emergencies.
For power outages call the G&E directly or monitor their page as they post up to date info on there.
Please stay safe and only travel if absolutely necessary.
Thank you.

If you have the older style smoke detectors they take the 9 volt square batteries. If you have the newer 10 year sealed units. Remember to test either of them monthly. They are supposed to warn you when the batteries get weak but don't rely on that. Test them yourselves. Don't take a chance, lives depend on them functioning properly. Stay safe.

ends next weekend. Don't forget to when you ! The manufacturing date is on the back. Replace after 10 years and alarms after 5-7 years. Put fresh alkaline batteries in alarms that use them. And if you're replacing your alarms, choose one that has a sealed, long-life battery: you won't have to change the battery for 10 years!
