Amazing team to be apart of! Happy EMS Week!!
During National EMS Week, the Westfield Police Department proudly recognizes and thanks all EMS professionals for their dedication, compassion, and lifesaving service to our community.
Today, we specifically recognize the Town of Westfield, NJ Fire Department.
The members of the Westfield Fire Department are certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and often respond with the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad to various medical emergencies throughout town.
National EMS Week was first authorized in 1974 by President Gerald Ford to honor the vital work performed by emergency medical personnel across the country. Since then, EMS Week has served as an opportunity to recognize the paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, nurses, and first responders who answer the call day and night, often during someone’s worst moment.
Every emergency response is a team effort, and we are grateful for the strong partnership we share with the EMS professionals who work alongside our officers to protect and care for the residents of Westfield.
Thank you for your professionalism, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to serving others.
