Lindsay Bezalel for School Board

Lindsay Bezalel for School Board I pledge to create an environment of open communication so all families can feel heard and represented. It’s time for a change.

It is essential to safeguard our public school system and the status quo isn't working. Let's make Westfield’s schools better.

This journey certainly didnt end how I had hoped. I am, of course, disappointed in the outcome but to quote a good friend, sometimes we work hard and try our best, and it doesn’t work out in our favor. But, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be proud. On my own, with only the support and help of family, friends, and friends of friends, I came 270 votes short of a seat on the Board of Education - that is not so bad! So today, instead of dwelling on what didnt work, I’ll leave you with a few tiny wins (h/t to for the phrase)

I truly have the most wonderful and supportive family and friends who believed I could make a difference from the start.

I’ve made some new friends who spent countless hours advising me, strategizing with me, designing marketing materials, helping me craft statements and responses, and getting the word out. I am forever grateful.

I (hope) I set an example for my kids and yours for how to take action and speak out when you believe in something.

There IS a referendum that will soon be discussed and hopefully up for a vote in April 2026 for Full Day Kindergarten and a few other enhancements to our elementary schools, so my voice has certainly been heard.

I live in the best, most supportive neighborhood in Westfield. Our crew is amazing.

There are 18 year olds who voted for ME, a Jewish woman, in their very first election they’ve ever voted in. That’s progress we can all be proud of, and is actually a really fun fact that bodes well for our future.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. For your support, your texts, your laughter and your counsel. Thank you for putting up a lawn sign and driving around with a car magnet. But mostly, thank you for advocating on my behalf.

XO 🌸

Thank you to the Westfield Baseball League for planning and hosting another wonderful Opening Day Parade and First Pitch Ceremony!

It was great to see so many baseball and softball families out there supporting youth sports and ready to play ball. The only thing missing was the sun! ☀️ 🤣

The stark difference between Westfield’s weak response and Beverly Hill’s strong one makes it clear that our Board and administration have failed to condemn bad behavior, set appropriate boundaries and consequences, and uphold the values of the community. It’s also another example of our leadership failing to make their constituents feel heard.

The Board’s inability to navigate today’s most pressing issues - in both words and actions - is one of my biggest motivations for running. We need a change. I hope you agree. Vote on Tuesday.

“I can achieve anything, I can believe in my dreams, when we sing.”

This morning I went to see the boys perform at Franklin Elementary’s Music in Our Schools concert. Photos are from the 2nd and 4th grade concert, and a surprise visit from the 5th grade Glee Club.

Mr. Geyer, the head music teacher at Franklin, is a very special teacher who instills a love of music and learning in each of his students. Every concert ends with a “MR. GEYER!” Chant and clap from the kids. He is beloved and we are lucky to have him in Westfield!

Every student should have the privilege of learning from a music teacher like Mr. Geyer!

Art Appreciation is a terrific program that allows parents to take part in their children’s learning, opens the students eyes to different artists and styles, and brings out their creativity! and I had a great morning in Ezra’s 2nd grade classroom teaching the students about Still Life Art, Cubism, Picasso and Georges Braque!

We also got to crash their Safari party! 🐘🐯🦁
Many thanks to Franklin’s 2J class, Mrs. Juliano and Mrs. Lombardi for having us!
