We get asked this question often so to answer it…
At Westfield Child Development Center, the safety, privacy, and well-being of the children and families we serve are our highest priorities. For this reason, we do not share photos of enrolled children on our public page or other public social media platforms.
We know our community enjoys seeing the exciting activities, special events, and learning experiences happening at WCDC. We have so many fun things planned throughout the year, and we love sharing glimpses of those moments with our community. However, we remain committed to protecting the privacy of the children in our care. By limiting the public sharing of children’s images, we help ensure a safe and secure environment while respecting each family’s right to privacy.
Public social media platforms, including Facebook, are accessible to anyone. Once a photo is shared publicly, it can be viewed, downloaded, shared, or distributed beyond our control. For this reason, photos shared on our public page will continue to have children’s faces covered or otherwise protected. While we want to showcase the wonderful experiences taking place at our center, our number one goal is to ensure the safety and confidentiality of the children and families we serve.
To keep families connected and informed, WCDC utilizes Procare, a secure communication platform that allows parents and guardians to receive photos, updates, messages, and information directly related to their child. Through Procare, families can enjoy daily insights into their child’s experiences in a private and protected setting.
