Democratic candidate Jeremy Berman falsely claimed yesterday (attached) that Republican Council Members including Mike Domogala voted in favor of the One Westfield Place amendment.

That is 100% false, and deeply disappointing he is willing to lie to residents. If he’s willing to lie now, imagine what he’ll do as Mayor.

Here are the facts:
➡️ All 5 Democrats voted YES
➡️ All 4 Republicans voted NO

Every Republican Councilmember opposed this amendment, and for good reason.

From day one, Republicans have warned that the Town failed to do proper due diligence before selling our downtown parking lots to Hudson Bay in a no-bid deal for just $11 million.

When Hudson's Bay came back to change the deal, Democrats claimed it was because the developer was “listening to residents.” That’s not the truth. Developers don’t remove revenue-generating office space out of kindness, they do it because the commercial real estate market is collapsing.

Despite these red flags, every Democrat still voted yes.

Westfield deserves leadership that demands transparency and protects taxpayers, not politicians who mislead residents for political gain. This is not how we build a united Westfield.

We’ll continue standing up for honesty, accountability, and the residents of Westfield.

And next time, Mr. Berman should attend a Council meeting, or at least read the news, before spreading lies.
