Join us for the Westlake Fire-EMS Run to Remember 9/11 5K Community Walk/Run 🇺🇸

On Saturday, September 12, Westlake Fire-EMS invites our community to come together to honor and remember the 343 firefighters and the 23 police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, along with all those who lost their lives that day.

This is more than a race—it’s a community event and an opportunity to remember those who answered the call, honor their sacrifice, and ensure that we Never Forget.

📍 Westlake Fire-EMS – 2000 Dove Road
🕗 Parking opens: 8:15 AM
🎤 Opening remarks: 9:00 AM
🏃 5K begins: 9:15 AM

The 5K is untimed, making it a great event for runners, walkers, families, and all members of our community. Each $30 registration includes 5K entry, an event T-shirt, and parking at the fire station.

❤️ Ticket proceeds will benefit the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Come walk. Come run. Come remember.

We remember the 343 firefighters.
We remember the 23 police officers.
We remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Austin and Carson to Westlake Fire-EMS for a very special experience—they got to be Fire Chiefs for the Day! 🚨

The Crisman family generously donated to the Westlake Academy Foundation and won this special experience at the Foundation’s fundraiser.

Austin and Carson got an inside look at what it takes to lead a fire department, spend time with our firefighters, check out the fire apparatus, and experience a little of what it’s like to be a Fire Chief!

We had a great time showing them around and hope they enjoyed their day as much as we enjoyed having them! 👏

A special thank you to the Crisman family for supporting the Westlake Academy Foundation and helping make opportunities like this possible. And who knows…we may have two future Fire Chiefs on our hands! 🔥🚒

Eastbound Highway 114 at Davis Boulevard is currently shut down due to a fatality crash.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes. Significant traffic delays are expected while emergency crews and investigators work at the scene.

🎉 Congratulations to Driver/Engineer Kyle Lynch! 🎉

Recently, our very own Driver/Engineer Kyle Lynch graduated from Texas A&M University–San Antonio with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Fire and Emergency Services Administration.

Earning a college degree while balancing the demands of a career in the fire service requires dedication, perseverance, and hard work. Kyle's commitment to professional development and lifelong learning is a reflection of the high standards we strive to uphold at Westlake Fire-EMS.
