We might have gotten 2 really rough storms in the past 24 hours, but the Library still has power and is open for all to cool down, charge devices, and more!

We'll be open until 9 PM tonight, so stop on in! Just be careful travelling Southbound on Central City Parkway from Warren Rd as there are reports of flooding.

The City of Westland has moved the State of the City to Westland City Hall due to today's heat and weather forecast. Updated details are in the post below!

LOCATION UPDATE: The 2026 Westland State of the City & Business Awards has been moved indoors to Westland City Hall due to weather!

Join us today, September 2, from 4PM - 6:30PM in the Grand Ballroom at Westland City Hall, 36300 Warren Road.

The evening will still feature the Business Awards and Mayor Kevin Coleman’s keynote address.

The Westland Library is saddened by the news of the passing of Dolly Parton at the age of 80.

A multi-talented legend, Dolly was also a major advocate for literacy. Inspired by her father's inability to read she launched Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 1995, a program aimed at getting books into the hands of kids around the globe. The program has managed to deliver over 300 million books to children across 5 countries, instilling a love of reading and inspiring many young readers.

Thank you Dolly for believing in the power of reading, you will be missed. ❤
