🎒 **Tuesday, August 18 – First Day of School!**
⭐ **Grades 1–6:** First day of school
⭐ **Kindergarten Last Names A–L:** First day of Kindergarten

☕ **Tears ’n Cheers for Kindergarten Families**
After drop-off, Kindergarten parents are invited to join our school leadership and PTO for **coffee and snacks on the east side of the school.** Whether there are tears or cheers (or a little of both!), we’d love to see you!

🎒 **Wednesday, August 19 – Kindergarten Last Names M–Z**
It’s the first day of school for our Kindergarten students with last names **M–Z!**

The new school year is here, and we can’t wait to kick things off with our Meet & Greet Tomorrow! We’re so excited to see our Jaguars, meet our new families, and get ready for another amazing year at Jefferson Academy!

After you meet your teachers, head over to the playground for Party on the Playground! Your PTO will be there with:

🍧 FREE snow cones — just bring your coupon!
🔎 Scavenger Hunt fun — complete the sheet your teacher gives you and bring it to the PTO tent.

📣 Jefferson Academy Charter Schools Board Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting the JA community and helping shape the future of our schools? We are currently accepting letters of interest and resumes from parents and caregivers interested in serving on the Jefferson Academy Charter Schools Board of Directors.

Due to term limitations, an additional board seat will become available for a one-year appointment beginning in June 2026.

✨ No special skills are required — just a willingness to serve, collaborate, and support the continued success of our JA community alongside fellow board members, administration, and school leadership.

📅 Letters of interest and resumes are due by Monday, June 1, 2026.

Candidates are encouraged to attend the June 9 Board Meeting at 6:00 PM at Summit Academy (7575 W. 103rd Ave., Westminster, CO), with a Zoom option available if needed.

This morning, our graduating seniors made a special visit back to the elementary school to walk the halls one last time. Our students lined the hallways, cheering them on and giving high fives as they passed by. It was such a meaningful and emotional moment for both students and staff — a reminder of how quickly the years go by and how proud we are of these seniors as they begin their next chapter. Congratulations, Class of 2026!

Reminder for families as we head into the last days of school! 🎉

📅 Monday is 6th Grade Legacy Day and their last day of elementary school! Please review the Monday letter for important details. Monday is also the 2nd grade field trip.

📅 May 19th is the last day for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Grades 1–5 will have a FULL day of school.

🎓 6th Grade Continuation will take place that evening at 6:00 PM at the secondary school.

📅 May 20th is a HALF DAY for students. Dismissal will be at 11:30 AM and lunch will not be served.

Our 4th Quarter Recap continues with an incredible season for the Jefferson Academy Elementary Band program! 🎶🎺🥁

From March through May, our student musicians represented JAE in amazing ways:

🎵6th grade band performed at the Jeffco Middle School Band Festival and the Colorado Bandmasters Association State Festival.
🎵Select 5th and 6th graders performed at the ASBDA Solo & Ensemble Festival, where every JAE student earned a Superior (I) rating — an outstanding accomplishment!
🎵The 6th grade band traveled to Grand Junction for the Colorado West Music Invitational and also enjoyed time together at Glenwood Hot Springs.
🎵Our 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students performed a fantastic spring concert for family and friends.
🎵At the Music in the Parks Festival, the 6th grade band earned 3rd place overall against an impressive field of bands.
🎵6th graders also performed alongside the secondary 7th and 8th grade bands in a special collaboration concert.
🎵Throughout April and May, our incoming 4th graders explored instruments and participated in band recruitment events. We are excited to welcome a projected class of 60 new band students this fall!
🎵To celebrate their hard work, students who completed their Pass Off Challenges earned a Sonic drink celebration during lunch.

We are so proud of the dedication, growth, and talent shown by these students and grateful for the leadership of our amazing band program. 🎶👏

We’re excited to share the results of our recent Board of Directors election!
Please join us in welcoming our newly elected Board members:

We are grateful for their willingness to serve and look forward to the experience, leadership, and fresh perspectives they will bring to our organization and community.
Our new Board members will officially be sworn in during the June Board Meeting as they begin their terms.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the voting process. Your engagement matters—and thanks to your incredible involvement, we surpassed quorum by more than 300 votes! 👏
