A Circuit Court judge just ruled in favor of Republicans in the lawsuit challenging how Democrats rushed the redistricting amendment onto the November ballot, ignoring the very procedural safeguards they unanimously passed earlier this year in Senate Bill 29. Senate Minority Leader and Whip Justin Ready are plaintiffs in the case.

“Throughout this process, our position has remained consistent, said Senator Ready. This lawsuit is not about protecting politicians or political parties. It is about protecting the integrity of Maryland’s constitutional process. Every Marylander, regardless of political affiliation, should expect their government to follow the same laws it expects its citizens to obey.”

Both leaders appreciated the Circuit Court’s careful consideration of these important constitutional issues and look forward to the prompt resolution of any further appellate proceedings.

Had a meeting in Keymar in Western Carroll County earlier this week, I think this is one of the most beautiful places in Maryland not just my district - took this shot with the Catoctin Mountains in the distance. Thank you for the opportunity to represent our area!

“Trying to reduce costs for Marylanders from every angle…” says Governor Moore…sorry - what?!? 350 tax/fee increases in just four years. There’s a better way….up and down the ballot this Fall.

This ruling is disappointing but as Commisisoner Vigliotti has stated, it’s only emboldened our county government to keep fighting - our Delegation and our County Commissioners will continue to pursue all options legislatively, legally and through the PSC process to protect our way of life in Carroll County and private property - including land that’s been put in preservation and conservation easements. Once again, the utility in this case is seeking the easiest path of least resistance in using dated power line technology without exploring meaningful alternatives - and the line itself is something that Maryland ratepayers would pay the cost of without receiving much if any of the benefits of, as it serves as an extension cord between Southern Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia. The fight continues.

A federal judge ruled PSEG may access land under Carroll County conservation easements to conduct surveys for the proposed Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project.

They stayed, so others could escape. Outnumbered. Outgunned.

Yet hundreds of Maryland soldiers charged again and again, buying General Washington the precious time needed to save the Continental Army.

From WBFF FOX 45 - “We do not believe the courts should condone this lawlessness from the Governor and the General Assembly by expanding their power to mislead voters to pass this constitutional amendment by an unconstitutional process," said Marshall Yates strategic counsel for the Oversight Project (the legal team filing the suit).” I am a signer on this lawsuit and it’s one of two that are in to try to stop this from moving forward on grounds that it violates state law and assaults the Declaration of Rights people have in Maryland.
