PRESS RELEASE

To help keep our community safe, the Westminster Police Department will have additional officers on patrol Aug. 19 through Labor Day (Sept. 1) looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

On August 21, 2026, the Westminster Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI)/Drivers License Checkpoint from 8:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location.

The primary purpose of DUI/DL checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
