Congratulations to Firefighters Cassidy Cox and Ryan Provençal on their graduation from the Fire Academy this past week. Ryan and Cassidy have put it many weeks of work to get here and we look forward to having them responding with us as our newest on call members!

PJ was a larger than life personality who loved being a Firefighter and helping people. He worked for the WFD early in his career and was always a pleasure to have around. Rest in peace Deputy, you will be missed by many.

Tonight, we had the honor of recognizing our members for their outstanding professionalism, teamwork, and dedication to our community.

Each was presented with the Stork Pin in recognition of their role in the successful prehospital delivery of a healthy baby girl. Their calm decision-making, skill, and compassionate care helped bring a new life safely into the world before arriving at the hospital.

The awards were presented by Tina Dixon of CMED, and we sincerely appreciate her taking the time to recognize the exceptional work of our members.

Childbirth in the field is one of the rarest and most memorable calls an EMS provider can experience. Many firefighters and paramedics spend an entire career without delivering a baby outside of a hospital, making this a truly special moment and a remarkable milestone for those involved.

Congratulations to our recipients on this well-deserved recognition, and welcome to the newest member of our community! 👶🚒❤️
