The Westmont Fire Department visited some very energetic preschool students for a fun morning of learning, exploring, and meeting the firefighters behind the gear. The kids got to check out the fire truck, ask questions, and learn that firefighters are people they can trust when they need help.

From big trucks to big smiles, these visits are about more than fire safety—they help build confidence and familiarity at an early age.

We were happy to connect with our active adults and share some of the exciting things happening in Westmont! We also had the opportunity to talk about important fire and life safety topics and answer some great questions.

🎉 That’s a wrap on our two-day Kids Safety Preparedness Camp! 🎉

What an incredible couple days of learning, hands-on activities, and fun! Our campers learned about a variety of important safety topics, including bike safety, fire safety, train safety, bus safety provided by First Student, internet & cyber safety, first aid, drone teams, and Police K9s. 🚲🔥💻🩹🐾

A special THANK YOU to Deputy Richardson and K9 Hope from the DuPage County Sheriff's Department for spending time with our campers! The kids also had the opportunity to put their skills to work by assembling their own first aid kits and pet first aid kits.

The Kids Safety Preparedness Camp gives 8-, 9-, and 10-year-old children the opportunity to connect with their local first responders while learning valuable skills to help keep themselves, their families, and their pets safe.

We’re already looking forward to next year! 🚔💙

❤️🚑 Westmont firefighters recently had the privilege of providing CPR training for teachers from a local school. Teachers play an important role in keeping our children safe, and we are proud to help equip them with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond during an emergency.

From learning high-quality CPR techniques to becoming familiar with AED operation, these educators strengthened skills that could one day help save a life.

Westmont firefighters got to spend some time with a great group of campers! We had the opportunity to talk about fire safety, show off some of our equipment, and answer lots of questions. Thank you for having us—we always enjoy connecting with members of our community!

Fire Safety Tip: If you hear a smoke alarm, get outside, stay outside, and go to your family's designated meeting place. Once you're safely out, call 911 from outside or from a neighbor's home. 🚨🏡

Westmont 2026 July 4th Celebration at Ty Warner Park - 6:40 PM UPDATE.

Food, beverage, activities, and music are expected to begin after 7:00 PM.

Once the current storm system passes, the weather is expected to remain clear for the remainder of the day.

The fireworks and drone show are expected to begin at 9:30 PM.

Please note that the park is very wet from the rains - please consider appropriate footwear.
