We are pleased to spread the word about a wonderful support group that will start meeting soon at Westgate Church (100 Winter St., Weston).

Living More: Cancer Support Group for Women
Will be held on 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm in the Parlor at Westgate Church. For women who have been touched by cancer, this group will be led/facilitated by Dianne Silvestri and assisted by Becky Borland.

We're planning a September event on household and personal emergency preparedness and we're interested to hear what topics folks would like to learn about. Along with the WERC, we'll have representatives from the Weston Police Department - MA, Weston Fire Dept, Board of Health, and Eversource, so there's quite a lot we could cover.

Any topic requests? We've got some ideas of our own, but would love to hear yours. Please reply to this post, Message, or if you'd prefer you can call the Weston Health Dept at 781-786-5030.

Correction: Climate & Preparedness Session is This Friday (5/31) at the CoA from 11am-12:30pm

The Weston Council on Aging learning series on the ACRE (Accelerating Climate Resilience for Elders) program, led by Weston Sustainability Coordinator Julie Gagen, continues this Friday. The last two session topics were previously listed in the incorrect order. They will be:

May 31 - Extreme Weather and Emergency Preparedness - Get informed about what climate-related hazards could occur in Weston, what local services and resources are available if they occur, and how to prepare for those hazards at home. Featuring members of the Weston Board of Health, Weston Police Department - MA, Weston Fire Dept, and WERC.

June 7 - Climate Resilience at Home - Hear about MassSave incentives, free and low-cost resources, home upgrades that build resilience, and information on joining the Weston Climate Core.
