Weston Council on Aging

Weston Council on Aging The COA is a Town of Weston department that provides programs and services to adults 60+. Fitness classes are offered at the COA five days a week.

Also known as the Weston Senior Center, the COA serves Weston residents of all ages with information and referrals concerning issues of elderly health, housing, health insurance, in-home assistance, and legal matters as well as related property and income tax concerns. The COA provides transportation to elderly residents for medical appointments, shopping, and cultural events along with low-cost c

oupons for taxi rides. A food pantry serves all Weston residents, as well as a medical equipment loan closet and meal delivery to home-bound seniors. The COA’s Outreach Program allows social work and nursing staff members to consult with seniors and their families. The COA offers individual counseling, support groups, educational programs, classes, health lectures, a Keep Well Blood Pressure Clinic, and a monthly newsletter mailed to senior households. The COA is supported by over 200 volunteers who provide more than 11,000 hours of service to the Weston community.

We began the week with a presentation of the Tibetan version of the King Gesar story. We ended the week learning about the significance of Bollywood films from Weston resident Anjana Bhargava. Participants enjoyed biryani, savory treats, and henna tattoos. It was a fun week of cultural learning at the COA!

Tonight the COA had a great time square dancing! A big thank you to the Fairs ‘n Squares Dance Club for calling the dances, teaching us new steps, and even providing partners. We enjoyed great food (including delicious banana pudding!), lots of laughs, and a fun-filled evening together. We can’t wait for next time!
