Earlier this week, as part of Fire Prevention Week, members of our department visited a few schools in town. Members engaged with students to talk about the importance of fire safety, calling 911, and to inform them of the various tools they may see or hear during a fire or medical call. Great job to all involved and hopefully those students brought some knowledge home to share with their families.

A big congratulations to Firefighter Vincent Yerardi and Firefighter Dylan DeRubeis on their graduation from the Boston Fire Academy today! FF V. Yerardi and FF DeRubeis completed their Recruit Fire Academy on Moon Island over the last 12 weeks and we are excited to have them back serving the Town of Weston. We are extremely proud of their hard work and dedication to their skills the last few months and know they will prove to be valuable assets to the Department and the community. A big congratulations to our very own Alec Yerardi, as he successfully completed and graduated from the Massachusetts Fire Academy Recruit Training Program. In addition, FF Yerardi also received the Outstanding Recruit Award, only given to one recruit from each class. The award recipient is the recruit that goes above and beyond in the skills and knowledge that it takes to be a firefighter. Congratulations to FF Yerardi and all of his classmates graduating today, we are so proud of you and we know you'll serve your communities well.

Some sights from the Boston Fire Academy on Moon Island where FF V. Yerardi and FF DeRubeis are wrapping up their recruit training academy soon! Last week, Chief Woodside, Chief Hayes, and Captain Munson attended a night training burn. In addition, shown are our two firefighters jumping from a 3rd story roof onto an airbag as part of a team building and confidence exercise. We can't wait to have these two back to serve the community, and we are extremely proud of their performances throughout the academy.
