🚧 ROAD CLOSURE ALERT – ST RD 3 🚧

The Westport Community Volunteer Fire Department would like to alert residents that State Road 3 is currently closed between 800 S and Kentucky Avenue due to downed power lines across the roadway.

⚠️ This closure will remain in place for an unknown amount of time while utility crews respond and work to repair the lines.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible. Downed power lines are extremely dangerous—do not approach them and keep a safe distance.

We will reopen the roadway once the area is safe and cleared by the utility company.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while crews work to resolve the issue.

Officer Lozier had a meaningful experience with the visitor bringing him a colored picture. This kind of interaction highlights the positive relationships that can develop between law enforcement officers and community members, especially the youth.

Officers like Lozier foster trust within the community by showing they care about local youth.

By engaging with young people, they serve as positive role models, encouraging good behavior.

Events like these create connections that can lead to safer neighborhoods and a sense of belonging for young residents.

Interacting with children through simple gestures, like receiving a colorful drawing, can have a lasting impact. It not only brightens the officer's day but also encourages kids to see law enforcement in a positive light.
