US National Weather Service Boston MA has forecast an increased risk of rip currents for most beaches in Southern New England with particular emphasis on the south facing beaches. With high heat indexes, high surf advisories in effect and an increased risk of severe weather, beach visitors would be well advised to stay near staffed lifeguard towers and listen to the warnings and beach flags as the afternoon progresses. Surf conditions can change from fun to dangerous and even deadly in mere moments.
