A search of all city councilors shows the only one to receive a large donation from Frank Marchione, the businessman putting up the large electronic billboard near the waterfront, is Cliff Ponte. Even the mayor got less a lengthier time ago (2024). The council would've had to sign off on approval for his billboard according to regular caller to local radio, Joe Carvalho, who is trying to pin down when this was even discussed or voted on.
