You’re Invited to Westport’s 1st Annual National Night Out

The Westport Police Department is excited to invite you and your family to Westport’s first-ever National Night Out, a free community event that brings residents and first responders together for an evening of fun, learning, and connection.

Tuesday, August 4, 2026
5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Jesup Green & Taylor Lot
Free and Open to Everyone

National Night Out is a nationwide event that encourages communities to build stronger relationships with their local police, firefighters, EMS personnel, and community organizations. It’s an opportunity to meet the people who serve Westport every day while enjoying an evening designed for the whole family.

Throughout the evening, you’ll be able to explore emergency vehicles, watch live demonstrations, participate in hands-on activities, and learn about programs and resources available throughout the community.

Highlights Include:

* Touch-a-Truck with police, fire, and EMS vehicles
* Police K-9 and drone demonstrations
* Fire Department smoke trailer
* Distracted driving obstacle course
* Connecticut State Police seatbelt/crash simulator
* Free Child Identification Kits
* “Beat the Chief” Basketball Challenge
* Dunk-a-Cop Dunk Tank
* Face painting
* Inflatable obstacle course and basketball game
* EMS demonstrations, including CPR and emergency medical equipment
* Live music from two local bands
* Pizza, Italian ice, ice cream, and other food vendors
* Community organizations, local businesses, giveaways, and family resources NNO Layout.docx

Whether you’re meeting your local first responders, learning about public safety, or simply looking for a fun family outing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate Westport’s first National Night Out and continue building the partnerships that make our community safer, stronger, and more connected.

It seems like there’s a missing tooth in the guardrail protections. We supported the idea of restoring all of the safety guardrails.

We believe Connecticut should restore the spending, bonding, and volatility caps—and close the loopholes that weaken them.

Fiscal guardrails only work when everyone follows the rules, not looks for ways around them.
