Road Closure notice for Sunday!

Road Closure and Traffic Pattern Changes for Fireworks at Zamberletti Park on Sunday September 6, 2026.

Westville Police Department releases road closure and traffic pattern changes for the fireworks event at Zamberletti Park on Sunday September 6, 2026. Information regarding Fireworks at Zamberletti Park on Sunday September 6, 2026.
Please plan to arrive early as parking is very limited around Zamberletti Park. You may need to drop off your party, then park several blocks away and walk.
Weese Pkwy. (between Westville Junior High School and Zamberletti Park) will close at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Moses Ave. on the North side of Zamberletti park will close to all traffic at approximately 8:00 p.m. No traffic will be permitted on Moses Ave. after 8:00 p.m. including residents, until after fireworks and fire department personnel give the all clear. Please plan to be at your destination well before the planned road closures.
There will be no parking allowed in the parking lot of Westville Jr. High School, or on Moses East of Westville Jr. High School due to proximity to fireworks. ANY VEHICLES PARKED IN THESE AREAS WILL BE TOWED.
We anticipate the closure to end at approximately 9:00 p.m. once all clear is received from Westville Fire and Fireworks personnel.
Please obey all restricted parking areas, they are in place for safety, and traffic flow.
ANY VEHICLES PARKED IN RESTRICTED AREAS WILL BE TOWED PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF FIREWORKS.
PLEASE PLAN TO ARRIVE EARLY AND ANTICIPATE THE NEED TO WALK SEVERAL BLOCKS.

Road Closure and Parking Information for Saturday September 5, 2026

Westville Police Department announces road closure and parking information for events at Zamberletti Park on Saturday September 5, 2026. Notice regarding road closures, traffic pattern changes, and parking near Zamberletti Park for Saturday September 5, 2026.
E. Williams St. on the South side of Zamberletti Park between N. State and Jefferson will close at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Weese Pkwy. between Moses and E. Williams St. will close at approximately 3:00 p.m.
For through traffic from Moses Ave. please use the connecting road behind Westville Junior High School to Madison St.
Washington and Adams St. North of E. Short St. will be restricted to residents only due to the complete closure of E. Williams St. Residents in these areas will need to exit to the South toward E. Main St.
For those looking for additional vehicle parking, we encourage you to park at Judith Giacoma School located at 200 S. Walnut St.
A shuttle will provide transportation to and from Zamberletti Park.
For handicapped visitors there will be a handicapped parking area on Moses Ave. near the basketball courts, with handicap access into the park on the West side of the basketball courts.
Please be advised that additional parking restrictions are in place around Zamberletti Park and will be enforced. Anyone parking in restricted areas may be towed.

City Hall, including the Gas & Water office will be closed on Monday, September 7 due to the holiday.

We will reopen for our normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8.

The Village of Westville would like to keep residents informed of individuals who currently hold a valid solicitor permit with the Village.

Current approved solicitors:
• Comcast | Valid through September 26, 2026

✅ All approved solicitors are required to wear their Village-issued lanyard while going door-to-door.

If someone comes to your home soliciting and is not wearing a Village-issued lanyard, please contact Non-Emergency Dispatch at 217-442-0155.

We’ll continue to share updates as solicitor permits are issued or expire. Please feel free to share this information with friends and neighbors!

NO PARKING – VIRGINIA STREET

To allow crews to complete the paving work safely and efficiently, NO PARKING will be permitted on Virginia Street on either day.

Please be advised that parking will not be permitted on Virginia Street on Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28.

We ask residents and visitors to please plan accordingly and make arrangements to park elsewhere during this time.

Independent Candidate Packets Are Now Available

Independent candidate packets for the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election may now be picked up at the Westville Village Clerk’s Office.

Three Village Trustee seats are available, each for a four-year term.

📍 201 N. State Street
🕒 Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
🗓 Candidate filing period: November 16–23, 2026
⏰ Final filing deadline: November 23 at 5:00 p.m.

Petition circulation may begin today, August 25, 2026. Candidates must obtain a minimum of 35 and no more than 85 signatures.

Please note that picking up a packet does not constitute filing for office. Candidates are responsible for meeting all requirements and filing deadlines. The Village Clerk’s Office may provide forms and general information but cannot provide legal advice or determine a candidate’s eligibility.
