Cleanup after the fire… some days are longer than others. We had a good crew of people work to get it all back clean and ready for the next fire call.

At 4:50pm on July 5th, the Westville Volunteer FD was dispatched to a reported garage fire on State Route 37. Upon arrival, heavy fire conditions were met. An immediate exterior attack commenced. Automatic mutual aid was dispatched and once on scene, Car 170 requested additional tankers to the scene. Two drafts sites were established and operations continued until all units were back in service at 10:48pm.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The Westville Volunteer FD would like to thank the Malone Callfiremen, Constable FD, Fort Covington FD, Bangor FD, Brushton FD, Franklin County Rehab Team, Fire Police Team, Franklin County Fire Investigators, Town of Westville Highway Department, Franklin County Emergency Services, Franklin County 911, NYSP, NYS DEC and NYS Department of Homeland Security for their assistance at yesterday’s fire.

Last but certainly not least, our FD auxiliary for keeping all personnel fed and hydrated. We appreciate you!

Approximately 40 VOLUNTEERS gave up a chunk of their Sunday to help a neighbor… thank your local volunteers when you see them.

The Westville Volunteer Fire Department would like to inform anyone that bought the raffle tickets for the “Fire Pit, Cooler, 2 Chair’s and 2 Tumblers” at the drive thru 20 Week Club Party that we believe your tickets were inadvertently thrown out. This is only for anyone that purchased these tickets at the 20 Week Club Party. Please send us a DM or reach out to any member with your name and phone number and the amount of tickets you purchased and we will put you in the raffle which now will be drawn on July 4, 2026. We are extremely sorry for this and have instituted new procedures so this does not happen again. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
