Tonight, members of the Wethersfield Fire Department pressure-tested the standpipe on the Putnam Bridge (Route 3 South) and flowed water from the bridge in conjunction with the ongoing work being performed on the bridge. The standpipe is used to provide an additional water supply to the highway during major incidents.
